This past weekend i was on a short left getaway with family and friends at the beautiful Drankensburg. It was my sisters 21st birthday and it was such  a treat for her and those of us who tagged along. Got to experience a horse ride for the first time and we also did a few other outdoorsy things while we where there. So its pretty clear that this styling  polyvore was inspired by the weekend. Its a pretty comfy ensemble with nice Lil details. The wellies are in such a accommodating colour because unlike the printed one, u can wear them with whatever. Oh and how cute are these horse shoe stud earrings!. Also added the leather satchel to match the horsie. Jokes! satchels are in vogue and would come in handy if going on a trail along the beautiful hills/mountains and the hat just coz its spiffing!

Samkelo Ndlovu isn't just a fresh face but also a really talented lady, who has been seen in a lot of local productions. Besides her talents, she seems to have great taste and style which i really dig. Its nice to see her in her own threads instead of those ridiculous clothes they made her where on Generations. Speaking of which, who ever is the costume designer or stylist on the soap has got to be FIRED!! Cant be having the huge generations following influenced by their dread full taste! Next thing half of SA looking like they walked off the Generations set......God Forbiddoo!! (in Nigerian accent).

They also happen to have a very interesting story behind the inspiration of their designs, inspired by their Nigerian immigrant parents and how they adapted their African style to that of western culture. Its so nippy in durbs today so got inspired to do some styling on polyvore that will brighten up this miserable day.
Picked the knit jersey because its got such fun quirky detail which is ideal for bringing life to the dullness of winter. Every other item is added to complement this cutie of a jersey. Asymmetrical skirts are on trend and and so are these high top sneakers! dig the neutral/nude colours and how they  just  balance out the boom pow of the lumo beanie and clutch! Oh and its always nice to bring all your rings out to play right??

Goodluck

This past Saturday got the opportunity to have a taste of "Le Good Life"at the Goodluck Tour 2012. Goodluck is cape towns electro swing band that made an appearance at the Cape Town Jazz Festival this year. Their perfomance was great fun, the lead singer has quiet a voice but was a bit disappointed with her stage appearance, not enough effort into her stage outfit but hey i guess its the music that counts and that it did. Was also introduced to the amaaaaazing dj duo Pascal and Pearce that had everyone going nuts with their dance remixes.
