Wow......
I'm pretty sure anyone who has visited this blog since its inception has picked up on my obvious adoration and slight obsession with the works of uMaKhumalo. This is the latest from Sindiso Khumalo for Autumn/Winter 2013 titled Umabo. Umabo is one of the Zulu wedding ceremonies where the bride is welcomed into the home/family of the groom. The bride comes bearing gifts for the grooms family dressed in traditional Zulu attire wearing a skirt called isiDwaba( a traditional Zulu maiden skirt made of cow hide the has folds resembling pleats and is given to a bride by her father to wear on her wedding day). I love Sindisos interpretation of the beauty and vibrance of this ceremony and i must say this collection epitomises that.

My fav blogger and fashion photographer Malibongwe of www.skattiewhatareyouwearing.blogspot.com attended the Hyeres festival again a few weeks ago. This collection by Satu Muraan is my fav from the those that he captured and put up on his blog. This collection speaks volumes to me, excuse the pun. I dig those platforms and how freaken awesome is this hat!! Larger than life! Wouldnt mind one of those to protect me from this Durban sun that is blazing despite the season.
Speaking of Mali, he is one of the judges for this years Elle Rising Star Awards which was also launch recently. Designers do your thang, get cracking and enter.
